The Cornwall Borough Water Department will be flushing approximately 185 fire hydrants throughout the water system until we are finished with the entire borough area. The flushing will take place during the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. during approximately a 3 week period. The flushing is required to clean the water system and check the operation of the hydrants.
Schedule
- The regular flushing route begins at the Cornwall Road Pump Station from there it will continue down Cornwall Road, into the Riding Club Estates, to Karinchville and end in Toytown.
- We will finish up Toytown and head into Cornwall Center. Pick up flushing in Alden Place, The Woods and thru Burd Coleman. We are hoping to end the week in Minersvillage.
- We will be heading into Goosetown then ending in the Rexmont area.
It is safe to use and drink the water during flushing.
During our hydrant flushing program, you may experience discolored or cloudy water. If this should occur, run your cold water at the sink until the water clears.
